Welcome to Rattenberg’s Association for the Promotion of Culture and Enterprise
The Rattenberg Association for the Promotion of Culture and Enterprise is an association of almost all the businesses in Rattenberg with the common aim of stimulating Rattenberg’s cultural and economic life in unconventional ways.
With approx. 440 inhabitants and an area of 11 hectares, Rattenberg am Inn is Austria’s smallest town. It was first documented in 1254 and granted the privileges of a town in 1393. As one of the few towns in Europe which has more or less preserved its medieval townscape intact, it enjoys a very special atmosphere.
Glass manufacturing dates back to the 19th century. It was at this time that individual glass craftsmen settled in the vicinity of the Kramsach glassworks which has a tradition dating back 300 years. Today a dozen glass refining businesses underline Rattenberg’s reputation as the glass town of the Tyrol.
Discover numerous sights, take advice in well managed specialist shops and enjoy the varied gastronomic provision in the historic atmosphere of this small but very fine pedestrianised town!
